I don't understand the problem with this DXL statements: string folderName = ""; int fldrLength = 0; folderName = name(getParentFolder(itemRef)); fldrLength = length(folderName); When I run this code, I keep getting an error on the last line that states "incorrectly concatenated tokens". I want to check that the folder name is less than 32 characters long so I can use it as the name of an Excel tab. For this code, the itemRef variable is a module within a project. Can somebody please help me figure this out? How does the length function have concatenated tokens?

Re: Problem using length on a string where is "itemRef" initialized? |
Re: Problem using length on a string Let me guess. You have a function or variable named "length" somewhere above this code? Rename it. That has been the fix for maybe 4 posts over the last 20 years or so. Yes, it should not matter, but 'length' seems to be a naughty word. There are others. You should avoid using standard names for your defined things. -Louie |
